Susan Magnier’s and Michael Tabor’s Irish classic winner Peeping Fawn registered her fourth straight Group 1 victory with an easy win in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks (Ire-G1) on Wednesday at York.

Under Johnny Murtagh, the Danehill filly cruised into the lead with a little more than a quarter-mile to run and romped through the straight unchallenged to tally by four lengths as the 4-to-9 favorite. Peeping Fawn completed the 1 1/2 miles in 2:32.70 on good turf.

Allegretto, winner of the two-mile ABN AMRO Goodwood Cup (Eng-G2) earlier this month, finished second, five lengths in front of third-place finisher Trick Or Treat.

Trainer Aidan O’Brien was not surprised with Peeping Fawn’s facile win and said future goals for the season could include the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Lucien Barriere (Fr-G1), Europe’s premier middle-distance race, on October 7 at Longchamp.

"She loves that ground and she is some machine,” O’Brien told BBC Sport about Peeping Fawn’s Yorkshire Oaks win. “She loves racing and she prefers to race.

"The Arc is very possible, and she is getting better and better. She is very exciting and is open to everything."

Cheveley Park Stud’s Allegretto, third in last year’s edition of the Yorkshire Oaks, chased the pace set by Trick Or Treat but was outrun in the final furlong. Peter Onslow’s and Ian Henderson’s Trick Or Treat, a 66-to-1 outsider, led the seven-horse field until overhauled by Peeping Fawn but hung on third.

Peeping Fawn won for the fifth time in ten starts this season and entered off consecutive victories in the Blue Square Nassau Stakes (Eng-G1) on August 4, the Darley Irish Oaks (Ire-G1) on July 15, and the Audi Pretty Polly Stakes (Eng-G1) on June 30 after a close runner-up finish in the Vodafone Epsom Oaks (Eng-G1).

Bred in Kentucky by Barnett Enterprises, Peeping Fawn is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Maryinsky (Ire) and is from the family of Belmont Stakes (G1) winners Rags to Riches (2007) and Jazil ('06).
