Rausing re-appointed director of National Stud
Kirsten Rausing was re-appointed as director of the National Stud by the British Levy Board for a second three-year term.Rausing is owner and manager of the Lanwades and St. Simon Studs and was appointed to the position in August 1998 when Sir Phillip Payne-Gallwey and Chris Harper stepped down.
Others recently appointed to the National Stud board were Stud owner Peter Stanley, bloodstock agent James Wigan and owner-breeder Geoff Howard-Spink. One more new director, who does not own a stud, will soon be appointed, Racing Post reports.
The National Stud, which has recently added multiple group/graded stakes winner Mutamam (GB) to its stallion roster, is currently reviewing its future after the British government's decision to transfer the functions of the Levy Board to the British Horse Racing Board.
