Nakatani appeals Hong Kong suspension

Southern California-based jockey Corey Nakatani has appealed the five-day suspension he received for careless riding in the Hong Kong Mile (HK-G1) on December 16.Nakatani was aboard Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) runner-up Forbidden Apple in the race in which he finished fourth as the lone American entrant.

He is permitted to ride pending the outcome of the appeal, England's Press Association reports.
