Starke draws second Hong Kong suspension
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has suspended Andrasch Starke for the second time in less than a year after the leading German jockey tested positive for an undisclosed prohibited substance.The positive test came turned up after Starke participated in the international program at Sha Tin racecourse on Sunday. The jockey has been suspended indefinitely pending the results of an analysis of a second sample test that he requested.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club hit Starke with a one-month suspension in early January after he failed a breathalyzer test for alcohol at Sha Tin racecourse.
Starke, 27, was due to start a three-month stint in Hong Kong after claiming his fourth straight German riding title.
