Deauville to install all-weather course

Deauville racecourse will become the first racetrack in the northern region of France with an all-weather track after announcing plans to install a Fibresand racing surface inside the turf course.

Plans call for a budget of around $1.9-million to be spent on the project.

"The idea would be to hold ten or so race days on the new track in the early months of 2003," Yves Deshayes, Deauville's clerk of the course, told Racing Post.
