Lode filly wins Argentine Group 1 stakes
Decencia registered her second stakes win of the season and second in her last three starts with a 1 ½-length victory in the Gran Premio Internacional Copa de Plata (Arg-G1) on Sunday at San Isidro racecourse.
Juan Noriega rode the four-year-old daughter of American graded stakes-placed winner Lode to victory in the 1 ¼-mile turf event, covering the distance in 1:58.09. Terna, a three-year-old daughter of Roy, finished second and Hopetown, a five-year-old mare by Southern Halo, was third in the 12-horse field, 1 ½ lengths behind Terna.
Trained by Juan Carlos Maldotti, Decencia added the Copa de Plata to her September 29 victory in the Sibila Stakes (Arg-G2) at San Isidro. She has also placed in three other group stakes events this season for owner-breeder Haras Vacacion.
Lode now stands in Brazil and has sired 33 stakes winners, including two South American champions.
