Sakhee earns French award
With wins in the Juddmonte International Stakes (Eng-G1) and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1) at Longchamp and a close second behind Tiznow in the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), Sakhee is the pick of French journalists and racing fans as the recipient of the Hermes Flat Horse of the Year Award for 2001.
Owner Godolphin's French representative Diana Cooper received the award on Thursday at a ceremony in Paris. Sakhee, who earned over $2-million this year in winning three of four starts, will next run in the Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1) on March 23. The four-year-old Kentucky-bred son of Bahri is trained by Saeed bin Suroor.
