English Jockey Club adds two new directors
Key personnel in charge of public relations and veterinary counsel were given full director status by the Jockey Club on Wednesday.
Chief veterinary adviser Dr. Peter Webbon, with the organization since 1996, has been named veterinary director. John Maxse, manager of public relations, who has worked in the department since 1993, has been named public relations director. Both appointments take effect on January 1, 2002.
Webbon recently received the Racing Award at the Animal Health Trust Awards for his work during the foot-and-mouth crisis in Great Britain.
The two join existing Jockey Club directors Christopher Foster (executive director), Tony Goodhew (director of racecourse services), and Malcolm Wallace (director of regulation).
