Bocelli begins training at Sha Tin for Hong Kong Cup
New Zealand-bred Bocelli, who will represent Singapore in the Hong Kong Cup (HK-G1) on December 16 is getting acclimated to the Sha Tin racecourse.
The five-year-old son of Lord Ballina comes to the Hong Kong Cup after finishing third behind Preis von Europa (Ger-G1) winner Kutub in the Singapore Gold Cup on November 10. Overall, Bocelli has won 11 of 21 career starts and has earned $748,325. His resume includes triumphs in Singapore Derby and Queen Elizabeth II Cup earlier this year.
"It's going to be a very, very tough race…but he's a top class horse himself and I expect him to run a very good race," trainer Patrick Busuttin said.
Hopefuls for the race include Arlington Million (G1) winner Silvano (Ger), in addition to Jim and Tonic, Agnes Digital, Tobougg, Bach, Hawkeye, Choc Ice, Terre a Terre, Bocelli, Momentum, Peak Power, Housemaster, and Monards.
