Overall 18-race contest rules
The object is to pick the winner of each weekly featured race.
Scoring is based on the official finish position of contestant's selections in each
race: ten (10) points will be awarded for correctly picking the winner; three (3)
points will be awarded if the contestant's selection finishes second; one (1) point
will be awarded if the contestant’s selection finishes third.
Updated scores usually will be posted on the Monday after each Inside Post Challenge
race has been completed.
Final scores for the 18-race contest will be tallied after the completion of the
Belmont Stakes on June 11.
In determining an overall winner for the contest, the contestant whose selections
earned the most points for the 18-race series will be the winner. In the event of
a tie for most points earned, the contestant having the most winners will be judged
the overall winner. If there is still a tie, it will be broken by a scorecard style
system (like used in golf scrambles), where each person's most recent picks are
compared and the person having the most recent correct winner will be declared the
overall winner. If there is still a tie going back from most recent pick to oldest,
a blind draw will be made by the judges to determine the winner.
All decisions of the judges are final.
First-place winner in the 18-race contest will receive two tickets to the Friday
and Saturday Breeders’ Cup World Championships programs on November 2-3 at Santa
Anita Park. The method of shipment is determined by the THOROUGHBRED TIMES. If the
winner wants the prize to be sent to an address outside the continental U.S., the
winner will determine the method of shipping and pay the shipping cost. Failure
to pay the shipping cost will disqualify that person as the winner. The runner-up
in the Inside Post Challenge will receive two tickets to the Saturday, November
3 program of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Third-place winner will receive
two tickets to the Friday, November 2 program of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
