IoniCare System 3 lameness treatment

Posted: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 2:56 PM

Edited press release

A new treatment for lameness in athletic horses is now available, backed by six years of development and testing.

After treating hundreds of horses at more than a dozen U.S. stables and farms, veterinarians, owners and trainers are achieving consistently positive results treating causes of lameness with the IoniCare System 3, according to Daniel V. Flynn, VMD, Medical Director of Equine OrthoCare.

The IoniCare System can treat competition horses with joint and connective tissue injuries in bone, cartilage, tendon and ligament, as well as degenerative joint disease.

Thoroughbred trainer C. Beale (Woodberry) Payne has treated over 30 Thoroughbreds with the IoniCare System. Mr. Payne finds it “easy to use” and “very effective at treating bucked shins, chronic ankle and foot problems, green osselets, annular ligament problems, degenerative arthritis, juicy knees and developmental bone lesions. We also find the System effective in treating cases that have failed to respond to conventional treatments, as well as maintaining joint health.”

The system has also effectively treated bowed tendon, bicipital bursitis, selected sesamoid fractures, and non-displaced, non-union splint bone.

The non-drug, non-invasive IoniCare System is based on the established scientific principle that electrical field therapies positively influence the repair mechanisms of bone, cartilage and other connective tissue.

The System delivers a patented electrical signal that creates a specific electrical field within the treatment site designed to mimic the internal electrical fields produced naturally in a healthy horse. This field appears to both promote regenerative factors and diminish degenerative and inflammatory processes. Learn more at www.ionicare.com.
