Feature Race Analysis Rules and Regulations
Win a 42" HDTV in Thoroughbred Times Feature Race Analysis Challenge
A 42" Toshiba flat panel HDTV will be the top prize for the Thoroughbred Times online Feature Race Analysis Challenge of 2008.
The multimedia interactive contest will be held over 14 races as sophomores go through the Triple Crown preps and into the classics.
There also will be weekly prizes of $50 beginning in March.
The contest starts with the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) on February 24 and concludes with the Belmont Stakes (G1) on June 7.
For the Grand Prize, participants in the contest will be asked to select the winners of 14 stakes races leading up to and including the Triple Crown races.
Scoring is based on the official finish position of each contestant's selection in each race, with ten points awarded for first, three points for second, and one point for third.
The contestant who accumulates the most points over the 14 races will be awarded a 42" flat panel Toshiba HDTV.
The FRA Challenge also will offer ten weekly prizes of $50 each beginning with the Louisiana Derby on March 8.
The $50 will be awarded to the person correctly selecting the winner of each weekly race, with the second- and third-place finishers being used as tie breakers.

Feature Race Analysis Contest Rules
Contestants must register for Thoroughbred Times Feature Race Analysis on Thoroughbred Times website, www.thoroughbredtimes.com.
Contestants must make their race selections online at Thoroughbred Times website, on its Feature Race Analysis subsection page.
Only online selections through the Thoroughbred Times website will be accepted for the purposes of the Feature Race Analysis contest(s).
No fax or regular post office mail entries will be accepted.
Thoroughbred Times is not responsible for any connectivity problems on the part of any users, if the Thoroughbred Times website is not accessible due to technical failure, any acts of god, or any other reasons.
All picks must be submitted five (5) minutes prior to post time for that week's feature race. You may change your pick up to that time.
Only one entry per person will be accepted (if more than one is submitted, the latest one submitted before the deadline will be used).
By entering the contest, the winner hereby gives permission to Thoroughbred Times Company to use his or her name in promotional materials in announcing, marketing, or promoting the results of the contest.
Employees of and/or regular contributors to Thoroughbred Times Company are not eligible to participate. Employees of BowTie Inc. are not eligible to participate.
Overall 14-race contest rules
The object is to pick the winner of each weekly featured race.
Scoring is based on the official finish position of contestant's selections in each race:
ten (10) points will be awarded for correctly picking the winner;
three (3) points will be awarded if the contestant's selection finishes second;
one (1) point will be awarded if the contestant’s selection finishes third.
Updated scores usually will be posted on the Monday after each FRA Challenge race has been completed.
Final scores for the 14-race contest will be tallied after the completion of the Belmont Stakes on June 7.
In determining an overall winner for the contest, the contestant whose selections earned the most points for the 14-race series will be the winner.
In the event of a tie for most points earned, the contestant having the most winners will be judged the overall winner.
If there is still a tie, it will be broken by a scorecard style system (like used in golf scrambles), where each person's most recent picks are compared and the person having the most recent correct winner will be declared the overall winner.
If there is still a tie going back from most recent pick to oldest, a blind draw will be made by the judges to determine the winner.
All decisions of the judges are final.
First-place winner in the 14-race contest will receive at 42" Toshiba flat panel TV.
The winner is responsible for any and all taxes.
The method of shipment is determined by the Thoroughbred Times.
If the winner wants the prize to be sent to an address outside the continental United States, the winner will determine the method of shipping and pay the shipping cost.
Failure to pay the shipping cost will disqualify that person as the winner.
Second-place winner will receive a one-year subscription to Thoroughbred Times.
Third- through fifth-place winners each will receive a 2008 Thoroughbred Times Racing Almanac.
Weekly contest rules
The object is to pick the winner of each weekly featured race.
Each week, contestants will be asked to select a winner, plus a second- and third-place finisher.
The person selecting the winner of the featured weekly race will be judged as the winner.
In the event of a tie for first, the person who correctly picks both the winner and the second-place horse will be judged the winner.
In the event more than one person corrrectly picks the winner and second-place horse, the person who correctly picks both the winner, second-place horse, and third-place horse will be judged the winner.
In the event there is still a tie, the person who correctly picks the winner, second-place horse, and third-place horse whose entry was received first (by time stamp of entry) will be judged the winner
All decisions of the judges are final.

The one winner of each weekly contest will be awarded $50.00. Each winner is responsible for any and all taxes due.
