Bernstein will remain at Castleton Lyons in Lexington and not shuttle to Haras La Biznaga in Argentina for the Southern Hemisphere season.
The Storm Cat stallion shuttled between Kentucky and Argentina from 2001 to ’07.
"Bernstein's stature as one of the leading stallions in the United States has grown immensely in the last 12 months as his first Castleton Lyons conceived-crop hit the track,” said Stuart Fitzgibbon, general manager-commercial for Castleton Lyons. “Bernstein is a very valuable asset to his owners and in consultation with our friends and partners at Haras La Biznaga, we have decided to rest Bernstein at Castleton Lyons for another year. Bernstein will be bred to a full book of top quality mares this season at Castleton Lyons."
Bernstein was Argentina’s leading sire in 2006 and ’07. Since then, he has sired American graded stakes winners Dream Empress, West Side Bernie, and Doremifasollatido, and recent John Battaglia Memorial Stakes winner Proceed Bee.
