Edited press release

Multiple Grade 2 winner Eaton's Gift has been purchased for stud duty in Texas and will stand at Joe and Sharon Kerby's Key Ranch in Salado in a deal brokered by Dr. Staci A. Speidel. The horse will stand as the property of the Eaton's Gift Syndicate for a stud fee of $2,000.

The seven-year-old son of champion Johannesburg is out of the Carson City mare Kit's Girl. Eaton's Gift brought $150,000 at the 2006 Keeneland September yearling sale from leading buyer and owner Zayat Stable, and the bay horse won half of his four starts as a juvenile. Improving fast at three-year-old, Eaton's Gift won the Swale Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park and the Matt Winn Stakes at Churchill Downs. A winner of the Smile Sprint Handicap (G2) at Calder Race Course at four-year-old, Eaton's Gift retired with five wins from 17 starts and earnings of $476,455.

Eaton's Gift joins a roster of stallions at Key Ranch which includes Drums of Thunder, Lil's Lad, Special Rate, and Uncle Abbie.
