Golden Eagle Farm announced that multiple graded stakes winner Heart of Joy was recently euthanized due to old age.

Heart of Joy, a 25-year-old daughter of Lypheor (GB) out of the Secretariat mare Mythographer, was a highly accomplished racehorse. She won the Nell Gwyn Stakes (End-G3) in England and finished second in both the General Accident One Thousand Guineas (Eng-G1) and Goffs Irish One Thousand Guineas (Ire-G1).

Trained by Gary Jones in the U.S., she won the Palomar Handicap (G2), San Simeon Handicap (G3), and Las Cienegas Breeders' Cup Handicap (G3). She also finished second in the Ramona Handicap (G1). Heart of Joy earned $733,755 racing for Mr. and Mrs. John C. Mabee's Golden Eagle Farm.

As a broodmare her first foal Meiner Love, was her best runner on the track. He was a multiple stakes winner in Japan and earned more than $2.6-million.
