Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs said young stallion Harlem Rocker will undergo a surgical procedure on Thursday at Cornell University to alleviate symptoms of spinal cord compression.
As a result of the surgery, Harlem Rocker is expected to miss the 2012 breeding season.
After recovering from surgery, Harlem Rocker will return to Adena Springs in Kentucky to recuperate and will be under the care of resident veterinarian Tom Little, D.V.M.
Harlem Rocker, a seven-year-old by Macho Uno out of the Lit de Justice mare Freedom Come, earned $597,649 in his racing career, highlighted by wins in the Withers (G3) and Prince of Wales Stakes. Harlem Rocker stood his first season at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds in Saratoga Springs, New York. Harlem Rocker is expected to return to McMahon to stand the 2013 season.
