The Daddy moved to Arkansas

Posted: Wednesday, October 19, 2011 6:01 PM

Grade 2 winner The Daddy will stand the 2012 season at Richard Hessee’s Trophy Club Training Center in Royal, Arkansas.

The nine-year-old by Valid Expectations out of With a Princess, by With Approval, stood the 2011 season at Airdrie Stud in Midway, Kentucky.

“The addition of The Daddy to our stallion barn is an indication that we are bringing solid quality stallions to the Arkansas breeder,” Hessee said. “He is an outstanding physical and is already showing tremendous potential as a stallion.”

The Daddy, who won the 2005 Super Derby (G2) among three wins from four lifetime starts, joins a stallion roster that includes Midway Road and Dove Hunt. The Daddy has 27 winners from 47 starters, including Saratoga Special Stakes (G2) third-place finisher Manchurian High and stakes winner My Doctor Waleska, in two crops of racing age and progeny earnings of $925,284 through Tuesday.

Patrick Morell brokered the deal.
