Una Mas Cerveza first winner for Killenaule

Posted: Saturday, September 10, 2011 10:14 PM

Una Mas Cerveza made all the pace in the sixth race at Hoosier Park on Friday and cruised to a 3¼-length win to become the first winner for Indiana-based freshman sire Killenaule.

The dark bay or brown gelding covered six furlongs on a sealed sloppy track in 1:14.40 for owner-trainer Tianna Richardville. Bred in Indiana by Jim and Deb Hartman, Una Mas Cerveza is the first winner out of the Lil E. Tee mare Foolish Tee.

Killenaule is a nine-year-old by Fusaichi Pegasus out of Grade 1 winner Tipically Irish, by Metfield. He stands at Footfall Farm in Palmyra, Indiana, and has 17 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Killenaule posted four wins, four seconds, and seven thirds from 27 career starts and earned $238,934 in four seasons. He won the 2004 Dover Stakes at Delaware Park and Storm Cat Stakes at the Meadowlands. Killenaule finished third in the Remsen Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct as a two-year-old and placed third in four other stakes during his career.
