Ocala sire Concorde’s Tune dead at 22

Posted: Saturday, July 02, 2011 3:55 PM

Concorde’s Tune, a 22-year-old resident stallion at Ocala Stud Farm, died in February following a battle with cancer.

By Concorde Bound and out of the Tunerup mare Parisian Tune, Concorde’s Tune is the sire of 291 winners from 356 starters that have earned $22,040,527 through Friday. The three-time stakes winner entered stud in 1995 and stood for 15 years at Ocala, standing the 2010 season for a fee of $2,500 prior to being pensioned.

“He went quietly in his paddock last night,” David O’Farrell, Ocala Stud’s assistant farm manager, told Ocala.com earlier this year. “He was a good horse and had a good life.”
