Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association reported that Paradise Creek, 1994 champion turf male in the U.S., died on April 4 in Japan. He was 22.
The 1994 Japan Cup (Jpn-G1) runner-up stood at Arrow Stud on the island of Hokkaido from 1995 to 2010. The dark bay or brown stallion by Irish River (Fr) out of multiple Grade 1-producer North Of Eden (Ire), by Northfields, won 14 of 25 starts and earned $3,401,416 in four seasons.
Bridlewood Farm foundation mare North Of Eden, a half sister to champion and sire Theatrical (Ire), died in March. Paradise Creek is a half brother to Grade 1 winners and sires Forbidden Apple and Wild Event.
Paradise Creek won eight of 11 starts during his 1994 championship season, including the Arlington Million Stakes (G1), Washington D.C. International Stakes (G1), and Early Times Manhattan Handicap (G1). He won four Grade 1 races among nine career graded stakes wins.
Paradise Creek’s top offspring include Japan’s 2005 champion two-year-old filly T M Precure.

I too would like to know more about the death of this horse. Was he slaughtered?

Was he pensioned? Still actively covering mares? Die a nature death or in a slaughterhouse? This article leaves too many questions unanswered!

Where did he stand after he was pensioned? You said he stood there until 2010? Was he slaughtered like Ferdinand?

This saddens me, to hear of his death, as I followed him during his wonderful career. I wonder what the cause of death was from. I hope it was from "natural" causes!
