El Don Quixote scored a 7 ½-length victory in a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight race on Monday at Remington Park to become the first winner for English stakes winner and freshman sire Miguel Cervantes.
El Don Quixote, out of the Collier mare Tender Lies, made his debut in the race for trainer Wilson Brown and covered the distance in 1:04.61 on a track rated as fast.
Miguel Cervantes, who won the 2002 Constant Security Doncaster Stakes, is a ten-year-old Danzig horse out of the Alydar mare Warm Mood. He is a half brother to Grade 3 winner Warm Heart and Irish stakes winner Royal Tigress.
Miguel Cervantes, who according to Jockey Club records stands in Libya, has eight foals of racing age from his first crop.

I was an underbidder when this colt sold as a yearling he had a great walk and is very well balanced. Sorry to say I didn't have enough money to buy him. I was at Remington Park on Monday when he destroyed a field of Oklahoma bred 2 year old maidens.
