Classy Ruler first winner for Ruler’s Court

Classy Ruler opened a clear early lead in the third race on Saturday night at Evangeline Downs and powered to a seven-length romp to become the first career winner for Louisiana-based freshman sire Ruler’s Court.

Trained by Glenn Delahoussaye for owner Coteau Grove Farms, Classy Ruler completed the 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race in 1:06.47 in his career debut. Bred in Louisiana by Allen Guillotte Jr., Classy Ruler is a half brother to multiple stakes winner Classy Deelites and is one of four winners from five starters out of the winning Sky Classic mare Classy Aly.

A nine-year-old by Doneraile Court out of the winning Copelan mare Future Guest, Ruler’s Court stood the 2010 season for $2,000 at Holly Hill farm in Benton, Louisiana. A half brother to graded stakes winner Wise River, Ruler’s Court has 26 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Ruler’s Court won the Norfolk Stakes (G2) at two and finished third in the Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes (G3). He won three of eight career starts and earned $235,900.
