Ide named Louisiana stallion of the year

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association named its 2009 award winners on Sunday, with Ide leading the way as stallion of the year.
The 17-year-old by Forty Niner out of Maytide, by Naskra, is owned by The Ide Group. His progeny earned $2,231,521 last year. Ide stands for $2,500 at Clear Creek Stud in Folsom, Louisiana.
Breeder of the year, which is based on the amount of Breeders’ Awards earned in the calendar year, is Ryder River Ridge Farm, with earnings of $276,240 in 2009.
The award presentations will be held during the association’s annual meeting at Fair Grounds on June 5.

Broodmare of the year: Minit Towinit (Malagra)
Two-year-old male: Red Rally (Reformer Rally)
Two-year-old filly: The Rumor’s True (Kafwain)
Three-year-old male: Milwaukee Miracle (Milwaukee Miracle)
Three-year-old filly: Seven Seventythree (Littleexpectations)
Four-year-old and older male: Star Guitar (Quiet American)
Four-year-old and older female: Superior Storm (Stormy Atlantic)
