Juan Carlos Bago’s Haras Firmamento in Argentina has purchased Central Kentucky-based sire Seattle Fitz (Arg) from Doug Arnold's Buck Pond Farm and will stand the 11-year-old by Fitzcarraldo after the conclusion of the Northern Hemisphere season.
Seattle Fitz, who was bred by Haras Firmamento, is the sire of stakes winners Holly’s Way, Grade 3-placed Fitz Just Right, and stakes-placed winner Pyrite On My Mind from 24 winners among 42 starters in two-crops age three and older.
Seattle Fitz is out of the winning Seattle Slew mare Hug a Slew, a half sister to stakes-placed winner Wife for Life, dam of Grade 1 winner Hollywood Story. He is a half brother to multiple group stakes winner Fantastica Roma and stakes winner and Honey Fitz, dam of Argentine group stakes winner Honey Nov.
A multiple graded stakes winner, Seattle Fitz won six of 21 career starts and earned $594,371. His victories include the 2004 Brooklyn (G2), Aqueduct (G3), and William Donald Schaefer (G3) Handicaps. He also finished second to Medaglia d'Oro in the Donn Handicap (G1) at Gulfstream Park.
