Old Fashioned has first mares in foal

The first two mares bred to multiple graded stakes winner Old Fashioned have been pronounced in foal to the four-year-old by Unbridled’s Song, who is standing his first year at stud alongside his sire at Taylor Made Stallions in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Stakes-placed winner and graded stakes producer Rare Bird, by Rahy, is the dam of 2005 Mac Diarmida Handicap (G3) winner Host among six winners. From the family of prominent sire Mt. Livermore, she is owned by Larry Byer’s Byerpatch Farm.

The winning High Yield mare Destiny’s Yield is a half sister to multiple stakes winner Brush Over and two stakes-placed winners. From the family Irish classic winner Shaadi, she has a yearling filly. She is owned by Bill Grube’s Destiny Oaks Farm in Ocala.

Out of the Grade 3-winning Meadowlake mare Collect Call, Old Fashioned captured the 2008 Remsen Stakes (G2) among three wins in as many starts as a two-year-old. He began his sophomore campaign with a win in the Southwest Stakes (G3) to become an early favorite for the 2009 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1). He subsequently finished second in the Rebel Stakes (G2) and Arkansas Derby (G2) in his final two career starts. He stands for $12,500.
