First reported foal for Keyed Entry

Posted: Wednesday, January 27, 2010 4:40 PM

Multiple graded stakes winner Keyed Entry was represented by his first reported foal when a bay filly out of the winning Copelan mare Copelan’s Lilly was born on January 15 at Mayo West Farm in Ocala.

A seven-year-old by Honour and Glory, Keyed Entry won four of 12 starts and earned $322,852 in four seasons. Out of Grade 3-placed multiple stakes producer Ava Knowsthecode, Keyed Entry won the 2006 Hutcheson Stakes (G2) and ’07 Deputy Minister Handicap (G3), both at Gulfstream Park. He is standing the 2010 season for $3,500 at Bridlewood Farm in Ocala.

Copelan’s Lilly has produced five winners from six starters and is from the family of Canadian Horse of the Year and U.S. champion Fanfreluche and multiple graded stakes winner and sire Chapel Royal. Mayo West Farm owner Liam Benson bred the Keyed Entry filly.

“I’m very happy with the filly,” said Benson. “She’s very strong-bodied and very well-balanced.”
