While Champs Elysees (GB) secured his two Grade 1 wins in North America, Prince Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms has decided to stand the Danehill homebred at its Banstead Manor Stud in Cheveley, England, after his retirement.
The six-year-old won last year’s Northern Dancer Turf Stakes Presented by VTech (Can-G1) and Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes (G1). He most recently finished third in this year’s edition of the Northern Dancer on September 20. He also finished second to Einstein (Brz) in the 2009 Santa Anita Handicap (G1) and third in the ’08 Big Cap.
Out of 2006 Broodmare of the Year Hasili (Ire), Champs Elysees is a full brother to Grade 1 winners Intercontinental (GB), Banks Hill (GB), and Cacique (Ire). He will join Cacique and their French classic-placed multiple group stakes-winning full brother Dansili (GB) at Banstead Manor. Dansili has earned recognition as a leading sire in France ,where Champs Elysees won the 2007 Prix d’Hedouville (Fr-G3).
In all, Hasili has produced five Grade 1 winners.
