Tiago, the 2007 Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner and half brother to ’05 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Giacomo, will stand his first season for an advertised fee of $7,500 at Adena Springs Kentucky in 2010.
The five-year-old Pleasant Tap horse out of Set Them Free, by Stop the Music, will stand alongside Giacomo, who also will command $7,500. Jerry and Ann Moss raced both Giacomo and Tiago with trainer John Shirreffs.
As a three-year-old in 2007, Tiago collected wins in the Santa Anita Derby, Swaps Breeders’ Cup Stakes (G2), and Goodwood Stakes (G1) and finished third in the Belmont Stakes (G1). Last year, he scored in the Oaklawn Handicap (G2) and finished third in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1).
Adena Springs has not yet announced an introductory fee for Santa Anita Handicap (G1) winner Einstein (Brz), who has been supplemented to the Hong Kong Cup (HK-G1) on December 13 at Sha Tin racecourse.
Einstein is first scheduled to seek a repeat victory in the Clark Handicap Presented by Norton Healthcare (G2) on Friday at Churchill Downs.
