Grade 3 winner Crafty Shaw represented by first winner

Crafty Shaw, who won Grade 3 races in four different seasons and now stands at Doug Arnold’s Buck Pond Farm in Lexington, was represented by his first winner on Saturday when Money’s the Object won a maiden claiming race at Mountaineer Race Track.

Trained by Tiffany Ericson for owner James Wilhite, Money’s the Object completed six furlongs in 1:14.86 to prevail in his sixth career start. Bred in Kentucky by Sue Thomas, Money’s the Object is out of the winning Canaveral mare Lira Lira.

Crafty Shaw, an 11-year-old by Crafty Prospector, entered stud in 2006 and has stood each of his first four seasons for an advertised fee of $5,000. He won nine stakes throughout a six-year career, including five Grade 3 events, while placing in nine other graded stakes.

Out of Grade 1-placed winner Her She Shawklit, by Air Forbes Won, Crafty Shaw has 28 two-year-olds in his first crop.
