Mobthewarrior first winner for Mobil

Mobthewarrior advanced to second from fourth in early stretch and drove to a visually impressive victory in his career debut in the third race at Woodbine on Thursday to become the first winner for Canadian champion Mobil.
Trained by Gregory de Gannes for owner Andrew Fredericks, the two-year-old dark bay or brown gelding completed the 4½-furlong race on the synthetic Polytrack surface in :51.76 at odds of 12.15-to-1 under Emma-Jayne Wilson. Bred by Gustav Schickedanz, Mobthewarrior is the first winner from three starters out of the winning Woodman mare Little Warrior.
A nine-year-old by Langfuhr out of the winning Naskra mare Kinetigal, Mobil stands for $4,457 ($5,000 Canadian) at Schonberg Farm in Schonberg, Ontario. He has 58 two-year-olds in his first crop.
A homebred trained by Michael Keogh for Schickedanz, Mobil was honored as Canada’s champion older male in 2004 after wins in the Dominion Day (G3) and Virgil (G3) Handicaps and Halton Stakes that year. In his four-year racing career, Mobil won 12 of 29 career starts and earned $1,877,136. He also finished second 2003 Queen’s Plate Stakes and ‘05 Atto Mile Stakes (G1).
