Strong Hope to relocate to Ocala

Multiple Grade 2 winner and sire Strong Hope, by Grand Slam, will relocate to Eugene Melnyk’s Winding Oaks Farm in Ocala for the 2010 breeding season. No stud fee has been announced.
Strong Hope stood the 2009 season for an advertised fee of $15,000 at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Kentucky.
Melynk originally purchased Strong Hope for $1.7-million at the 2001 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred preferred yearling sale.
The nine-year-old horse out of Shining Through, by Deputy Minister, is the sire of 176 foals of racing age in his first two crops. Strong Hope has sired 24 winners from 49 starters since Tuesday, including Oakley Stakes winner Trophy Collector and stakes-placed winner Donttellmewhattodo.
Strong Hope won the 2003 Jim Dandy (G2) and Dwyer (G2) Stakes during his three-year-old campaign. He also finished second in the 2004 Carter Handicap (G1) and third in the ’03 Travers Stakes (G1) and ’04 Metropolitan Handicap (G1).
