Fantastic Madame first winner
for Devil Hunter

Fantastic Madame saved ground before advancing on the far turn and rallying to win the fourth race at Hawthorne Race Course on Thursday and become the first winner for freshman sire Devil Hunter.

Trained by Ida Spagnola for owner Adrian Roman, Fantastic Madame was sent off at 10.50-to-1 odds and won by 1¼ lengths while covering one mile and 70 yards on a track rated as fast in 1:43.29 under jockey Timothy Thornton. Fantastic Madame is one of two winners from as many starters out of the unplaced Fantastic Fellow mare Madame Galore.

Devil Hunter, a ten-year-old by Pulpit, will stand the 2010 season for $1,000 at Ahsum Acres in Elizabeth, Illinois. There are eight two-year-olds in his first crop.

Out of the multiple Grade 1-placed winning Private Account mare Grand Girlfriend, Devil Hunter comes from the family of multiple graded stakes winner Tiz Wonderful and Grade 2 winners Prussian Blue and Tights.
