Irish Road moves to Pennsylvania

Posted: Tuesday, December 08, 2009 4:44 PM

Edited press release

Brian Burns’ Mount Joy Stables has announced Irish Road will be relocated from Signature Stallions in Reddick, Florida to Ghost Ridge Farms in Windsor, Pennsylvania for the 2010 breeding season.

Irish Road is a nine-year-old son of influential sire Unbridled’s Song out of the multiple stakes-winning Known Fact mare Twin Propeller. Twin Propeller is the grandam of Gulfstream Park Handicap (G2) winner and millionaire Smooth Air.

Ghost Ridge General Manager Carl McEntee said, “This impeccably bred son of Unbridled’s Song will be well received by the ever expanding market in Pennsylvania, and with the quality in Irish Road’s pedigree we expect great things from this improving young sire.”

Irish Road, a winner of five of nine lifetime starts and an earner of nearly $129,000, is the sire of Tony Boloney, a recent maiden special weight two-year-old winner at Calder Race Course. Tony Boloney is the first starter from the first crop of two-year-olds by Irish Road.

Irish Road will stand the 2010 breeding season for $1,500 live foal.
