Group 1 winner Thewayyouare to stand at Ashford

Group 1 winner Thewayyouare, a four-year-old Kingmambo colt from the family of Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour, will return to his native Kentucky to stand the 2010 season at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Versailles.
Bred by Barnett Enterprises out of the Group 1-placed winning Sadler’s Wells mare Maryinsky (Ire), Thewayyouare is a half brother to European champion, dual classic winner, and multiple Group 1 winner Peeping Fawn. Maryinsky is a half sister to three stakes winners, including the Grade 2-winning Deputy Minister mare Better Than Honour, the dam of champion and Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Rags to Riches, classic winner and Central Kentucky stallion Jazil, Grade 2 winner Casino Drive, and possible Breeders’ Cup Marathon starter Man of Iron.
Thewayyouare began his career with trainer Andre Fabre and promptly won four of five races in less than four months, including the 2007 Criterium International (Fr-G1) at Saint-Cloud to end his two-year-old season.
Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith bought into the colt after he finished sixth, beaten just 4 3/4 lengths by Falco, in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Fr-G1) (French Two Thousand Guineas). He also competed in the Prix du Jockey Club (Fr-G1) (French Derby) to conclude his three-year-old season.
Thewayyouare returned to race twice at four, including a fourth-place finish to French Derby and multiple Group 1 winner Vision d’Etat in the Prix Ganay Grand Prix Air Mauritius (Fr-G1) for new trainer Aidan O’Brien.
Thewayyouare won four of nine career starts and earned $340,968.
Thewayyouare is one of only six sons of Kingmambo scheduled to stand the 2010 season in Central Kentucky. Ashford will set a fee at a later date.
