Tramore Bay is first winner for Fire Blitz
Tramore Bay stalked the pace and took over in the stretch to post a 3 3/4-length win in the opening race on closing day at Pinnacle Race Course on Monday to become the first career winner for Michigan-based freshman sire Fire Blitz.
Trained by James Jackson for owners George and Chrissy Kutlenios, Tramore Bay completed the six-furlong maiden special weight race in 1:17.20 on a track rated as fast. Bred in Michigan by Dan Boik and Marilyn McMaster, the dark bay or brown filly is out of the winning Ordway mare Highland Way.
A ten-year-old by Storm Cat out of 2000 Canadian Broodmare of the year Primarily, by Lord At War (Arg), Fire Blitz stood the 2009 season for an advertised fee of $1,500 at Campbell Stables in Jackson, Michigan. A half brother to Canadian champions Poetically and Primaly, Grade 1 winner Citronnade, and leading Canadian sire Whisky Wisdom, Fire Blitz has 11 two-year-olds in his first crop. He won three of ten starts and earned $85,868 in three seasons of racing.
