Options Baby becomes first winner for Terrell

Ryan Beedie’s and John O’Neal’s Options Baby made a three-wide bid approaching the stretch and drove through the lane to win by a neck in a 6½-furlong maiden claiming race on Saturday at Hastings Race Course to become the first winner for freshman sire Terrell.

Options Baby covered the distance on Saturday under jockey Fernando Perez in 1:19.25. He is out of the Lost Soldier mare No Reservations.

Terrell, a nine-year-old Distorted Humor horse, won two of six starts with two second-place finishes and earned $78,520 in three racing seasons. He stood the 2009 season for $4,000 at Legacy Ranch in Clements, California.

Terrell is represented by 27 foals of racing age in his first crop.
