Yankee Gentleman moves to Louisiana


Third-crop sire Yankee Gentleman has been moved to La Mesa Stallions in Carencro, Louisiana, for the 2010 season.

The stakes winner by Storm Cat out of Grade 1 winner Key Phrase, by Flying Paster, will stand for $5,000 live foal with $4,000 due by November 1.

Yankee Gentleman stood six seasons at Airdrie Stud in Midway, Kentucky. He has sired six stakes winners, including 2008 Oklahoma Derby and Zia Park Derby winner Golden Yank, California Derby winner Yankee Bravo, and multiple stakes winner Southern Yankee.

From 130 starters, Yankee Gentleman has sired 81 winners and the earners of $5,378,905 through Monday.

Marty and Pam Wygod bred and raced Yankee Gentleman, who won the 2003 Pirate’s Bounty Handicap at Del Mar.
