Mastercraftsman retired to Coolmore Stud
Multiple Group 1 winner and 2008 European champion two-year-old Mastercraftsman (Ire) has been retired and will stand the 2010 season at Coolmore Stud in Ireland. The three-year-old Danehill Dancer colt will stand for a fee of about $29,932 (20,000 euros).
Mastercraftsman finished fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) on November 7 in his final start. For his career, Mastercraftsman won 7 of 12 starts, including four Group 1 races, and earned $1,732,441.
“Mastercraftsman was a top class racehorse, winning four Group 1 races at six furlongs, seven furlongs, and one mile,” Coolmoore manager Christy Grassick said. “He’s a European champion two-year-old by [leading British and Irish] sire Danehill Dancer and comes from the family of champion sires Capote and Broad Brush. We think he offers outstanding value at 20,000 (Euros).”
