Green Spring Boy first winner for Race On Green

After finishing third in each of his two previous races, Green Spring Boy closed from off the pace under Jesus Sanchez and drew clear to a 1 1/4-length win in the third race on Saturday night at Charles Town Races to become the first winner for West Virginia-based freshman sire Race On Green.

An 11-year-old by A.P. Indy out of multiple graded stakes winner Grab the Green, by Cozzene, Race On Green stood the 2009 season for $750 at O’Sullivan Farms in Charles Town, West Virginia. He has 18 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Race On Green amassed three wins, six seconds, and three thirds from 27 career starts and earned $111,640 in five racing seasons.
