Air Crew is first winner for Pollard’s Vision

Air Crew won a maiden race on Sunday at San Siro Racecourse in Milan, Italy, to become the first career winner for Central Kentucky-based sire Pollard’s Vision.

Trained by Riccardo Menichetti for owner Razza dell’Olmo, Air Crew completed 1,000 meters (4.97 furlongs) in 1:01.30 to win his second career start. He is out of the winning Holy Bull mare Crystal Bull.

Pollard’s Vision is an eight-year-old by Carson City out of the unraced Dixieland Band mare Etats Unis, a full sister to Grade 2 winner and sire Bowman’s Band. Pollard’s Vision stands for $5,000 at Wintergreen Stallion Station in Midway, Kentucky. He has 104 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Multiple Grade 1-placed Pollard’s Vision won six of 23 career starts and amassed $1,430,311 in purse earnings in three racing seasons. He won the 2004 Illinois Derby (G2) prior to an unplaced finish in the Kentucky Derby (G1).

Pollard’s Vision also posted wins in the 2004 Leonard Richards Stakes (G3) and Walmac Lone Star Derby (G3) and won the ’05 National Jockey Club Handicap (G3). He finished second in the 2005 Pimlico Special Handicap (G1) and third in the ’05 Suburban Handicap (G1).
