Susy Strong is first winner for Colossus

After a third-place finish in her career debut, Susy Strong posted a one-length win on Saturday at Milan to become the first career winner for Group 2-placed stakes winner Colossus, a full brother to multiple Grade 1 winner and sire Danehill Dancer.

Susy Strong completed 1,000 meters in 1:00.50 for trainer Mario Ciciarelli and owner Scuderia Briantea. She is out of the Saddlers’ Hall (Ire) mare Strongal.

Colossus, a seven-year-old by Danehill out of the Sharpen Up (GB) mare Mira Adonde, won three of eight career starts and earned $132,583. He is a half brother to Group 3 winner Unilateral and Group 3-placed stakes winner Adonesque (Ire).

Colossus won the St. Bernard Blenheim Stakes as a juvenile in 2003 and also finished second that year in the Prix Robert Papin (Fr-G2).
