Posted: Saturday, July 05, 2008 5:24 PM

Isabellas Premiere gained command in the closing strides and earned a neck win in her racing debut on Friday at Emerald Downs to become the first winner for freshman sire Private Gold.

Trained by Blaine Wright for owners John and Janene Maryanski, Isabellas Premiere won the five-furlong maiden claiming race in :59.60 on a track rated as fast. The dark bay or brown filly is the first starter out of the winning Free At Last mare Freedom in Flight.

Grade 3-placed multiple stakes winner Private Gold stands for $2,000 at El Dorado Farms in Enumclaw, Washington. An eight-year-old by Seeking the Gold out of the winning Elocutionist mare Temper the Wind, Private Gold is a half brother to multiple Grade 3 winner Stem the Tide and multiple stakes winners Private Jet and Gottcha Last, dam of multiple Grade 3 winner Gottcha Gold. Private Gold has 26 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Private Gold concluded his racing career in 2004 with three wins in 13 starts and $208,047 in earnings for trainer Patrick Byrne and owners Mountain Top Racing and Robert and Beverly Lewis. Bred in Kentucky by Christiana Stables, Private Gold won the 2002 James C. Ellis Juvenile Stakes at Ellis Park and the ’03 Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park. He also finished second in the ’02 Kentucky Cup Juvenile Stakes (G3) at Turfway.
