Abounding Attitude first winner for American Patriot
Abounding Attitude moved up four wide on the turn, overtook runner-up Shore to Sky near midstretch, and posted a 1 1/2-length win on Wednesday in the fourth race at Hoosier Park to become the first winner for freshman sire American Patriot.
Trained by Mike Crowder for owners-breeders Jennie Cannon and Vivian Gillispie, Abounding Attitude won the six-furlong maiden claiming race in 1:13.80 on a track rated as muddy. The two-year-old filly is a half sister to Grade 3 winner Abounding Truth and is one of five winners from seven starters out of the winning Lyphard’s Ridge mare Abounding Mystery.
American Patriot, an eight-year-old by Mr. Prospector out of Grade 2 winner Wandering Star, by Red Ransom, stood the 2008 season for $1,500 at Hurstland Farm in Midway, Kentucky.
