Original Image set the early pace and held on for a nose win in the third race at Northlands Park on Sunday to become the first winner for freshman sire Unbridled’s Image.

Bred in Florida by Heather Hurlbut, Original Image completed six furlongs in 1:14.60 on a fast track as the 0.85-to-1 favorite under Quincy Welch. Owned by  Ian Mikalson and trained by Rick Wise, the bay gelding is one of two winners from as many starters out of the stakes-placed winning Gold Alert mare Fashion Alert.

Unbridled’s Image, an eight-year-old by Unbridled out of Sugar’s Image, by Valid Appeal, stood the 2008 season at Bridlewood Farm in Ocala for $1,500. He has 38 two-year-olds in his first crop.

A half brother to multiple Grade 3 winner and sire Halo’s Image, Unbridled’s Image placed once in 13 career starts.
