DISTORTED HUMOR

WinStar Farm has adjusted the stud fee for leading commercial sire Distorted Humor to $150,000 for the 2009 breeding season.

The Versailles, Kentucky, farm previously announced Distorted Humor, sire of 2003 champion three-year-old male Funny Cide, would stand for $225,000 next year.

“WinStar is a long-term player and we have always believed in adjusting to market conditions to facilitate our shareholders’, fellow breeders’, and WinStar Farm’s overall success,” said Doug Cauthen, WinStar Farm’s president. “Distorted Humor is the number one covering sire in the nation with an average of $1,833,333. Our objective with this move is to maintain his position at the top.”

A 15-year-old Forty Niner horse out of the Grade 2-winning Danzig mare Danzig’s Beauty, Distorted Humor has sired 407 winners, including 26 graded or group stakes winners, from 717 foals of racing age that have earned $52,477,793 through Monday.
