Texas Glitter dies in Florida


Three-time Grade 3 winner Texas Glitter died earlier in the week due to complications from colic.

The 12-year-old bay Glitterman horse, out of stakes placed Come on Texas, by Apalachee, won 11 of 37 career starts and banked $826,077 in purse earnings. Texas Glitter stood for $4,000 at Signature Stallions in Reddick, Florida.

Texas Glitter, a half brother to Grade 3 winner Mr. John, won the 1999 Spectacular Bid Stakes (G3), 2000 Laurel Dash Stakes (G3), ’02 Hollywood Turf Express Handicap (G3), and six other stakes races during his five-year racing career.

He started his career as a stallion in 2003 at Signature Stallions and sired 56 winners from 147 foals of racing age. Texas Glitter's progeny earned $1,757,710 through Thursday.
