Haradasun to enter stud at Coolmore Australia
Australian champion and dual Group 1 winner Haradasun will enter stud during the upcoming Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Coolmore Australia.
The Fusaichi Pegasus horse out of Australian Group 1 winner Circles of Gold, by Marscay, will stand for approximately $52,425 ($55,000 Australian). Haradasun is a half brother to 2005 Australian champion older horse and multiple Group 1 winner Elvstroem.
“We’re delighted that Haradasun will be joining our stallion roster for 2008,” Coolmore Australia General Manager Michael Kirwan said. “Australasian mare owners are looking for suitable stallions free of Danehill, and in Haradasun we believe that Coolmore can offer the most perfect outcross at the best-value fee available for high-class Danehill mares.”
Haradasun was named Australia’s champion three-year-old male in 2007 after earning consecutive wins in the Cathay Pacific George Ryder Stakes (Aus-G1) at Rosehill and the Emirates Doncaster Handicap (Aus-G1) at Randwick for trainer Tony Vasil. Aidan O’Brien currently trains Haradasun, who is being pointed toward the Queen Anne Stakes (G1), a one-mile race on June 17 at Royal Ascot.
“I really like this horse,” O’Brien said. “He has tons of speed and is flying at home. I think the mile at Ascot will suit him well and I expect him to be very competitive.”
