Scat Daddy heading to Australia for 2008 season

Multiple grade 1 winner Scat Daddy will join the Coolmore Australia stallion roster for the 2008 Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

The four-year-old Johannesburg colt out of the Mr. Prospector mare Love Style won the 2007 Fountain of Youth Stakes (G1) and the Florida Derby (G1) as a three-year-old after capturing the Champagne Stakes (G1) as a juvenile in 2006.

His stud fee has been set at $16,500 (Australian dollars).

“Scat Daddy was a brilliantly fast Grade 1-winning two- and three-year-old with all the right credentials to become a top class sire,” Coolmore Australia Manager Michael Kirwan said. “I was very impressed with his good looks and great walk when I saw him at Ashford earlier in the year; he should really appeal to Australian breeders.”

Scat Daddy currently stands at Ashford Stud for a 2008 fee of $30,000.
