Phantom’s Diva first winner for Distinction

Harmony Stable’s first-time starter Phantom’s Diva led at every point of call in the seventh race at Fair Meadows at Tulsa on Saturday and scored a 3¾-length victory to become the first winner for Oklahoma-based freshman sire Distinction.

The even-money favorite as part of a coupled entry in the ten-horse field, Phantom’s Diva completed the four-furlong maiden special weight race in :46.40 under Scott Young. Trained by Mike Teel, the dark bay or brown Oklahoma-bred filly is out of the unraced Key to the Mint mare Freshly Minted.

Distinction is a nine-year-old by Seattle Slew out of Grade 3 winner Omi, by Wild Again. A half brother to stakes winner Brushed Bayou, Distinction stood the 2008 season for $2,000 at Mighty Acres in Pryor, Oklahoma. He has 22 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Campaigned by Fog City Stable, Distinction won three of 21 career starts and earned $78,058.
