Mylilmemo is first winner for freshman sire Hot War

Mylilmemo dug in gamely under Casey Lambert to prevail in the seventh race on Thursday at Ruidoso Downs and become the first winner for stakes winner and freshman sire Hot War.

Trained by Simon Buechler for owners Bill Guess and Danna Buechler, Mylilmemo completed the five-furlong maiden special weight race in 1:01.40 on a track rated as fast. The bay filly is out of the winning Memo (Chi) mare Got the Memo, a half sister to stakes winner Idealistic Dream.

A nine-year-old by In Excess (Ire) out of the winning Miswaki mare Magical Flash, Hot War stood the 2008 season for $1,500 at Palo Verde Ranch in Anthony, New Mexico. A half brother to Grade 3 winner Take the Ribbon and multiple stakes winner Bright Magic, Hot War has three two-year-olds in his first crop.

Hot War won three of 13 career starts, including the 2002 Real Good Deal Stakes at Del Mar, and earned $165,130 in four seasons.
